Rule 54
District Non-formal Education Committee
(1) There shall be a district non-formal education committee having the following members to supervise, manage, coordinate and supervise non-formal education at the district level:-
(a) Chairman of District Development Committee – Chairman
(b) Chief District Officer or an officer designated by him – Member
(B1) District Education Officer – Member
(c) Secretary, District Development Committee – Member (d) …………
(e) Head of Women Development Branch – Member
(f) One person nominated by the District Non-formal Education Committee from among the Chairman or Heads of the Village Development Committee or Municipality - Member
(G) One person nominated by the District Education Committee from among non-governmental organizations conducting non-formal education programs - member
(h) …………..
(i) Two members nominated by the District Non-formal Education Committee including at least one woman from among Dalits and the disabled. (j) President, Teachers' Union, District Working Committee - Member
(k) Officer-Member-Secretary to look after the non-formal education program of the District Education Office (2) The term of office of the member nominated as per sub-rule (1) shall be three years.
(3) The district non-formal education committee may form non-formal education committees at the village and ward levels as per the need.
(4) Other functions, duties and rights of the District Non-formal Education Committee shall be as prescribed by the Non-formal Education Council.
(5) The meeting procedures of the district non-formal education committee shall be as determined by the said committee itself.
